I’m trying to get into the habit of posting on here more, so here are some projects that I’m working on!
First of all, getting my Master’s degree. Yes, I consider that a project, haha. I’ve been working on my Master’s in Library Science since 2024. Formal education is very much Not For Me, though, so I’m taking my time with it. My biggest motivator to finish is simply to add to the statistic of Black folk who are librarians!
There’s also my fancomic, Fear and Hunger: The Impossible. This is an adaptation of the game, Fear and Hunger: Termina, but reimagined into a “What if everyone lived?” concept. I don’t consider it a fix-it fic—I actually think things are worse for characters when they’re forced to live with their trauma :3c But really, it’s more of an excuse to explore the individual characters, their relationships with each other, and their backstories. This is my main creative project—it started super small, but I surprisingly got really into it and keep unintentionally improving it haha! Now I kind just wanna see how far I can go. It’ll be a long time before I finish it, if I finish it (hyperfixations can only last so long), but it has definitely helped with my art and comic making skills, so I’d like to keep going!
Pavrin fan stories!! Okay, so continuing off of Fear and Hunger, while working on the Everyone Lives AU, I unintentionally started shipping the characters, Karin Sauer and Pavel Yudin (you can see a ton of fanart in my art gallery!). I just feel like they had a lot of similarities and parallels. Plus, with an Everyone Lives AU, by brain started thinking of what happens after, and I genuinely think the two of them would spend a lot of time together and got to thinking of making an aftermath fancomic focused on the two of them! I tried to wait until after I finished my adaptation first, but like I said, it will take a LONG time (I’m only on Evening 1!). So I actually started writing a bunch of fics and posting them on AO3. They are written CRAZY out of order and the ones that have any spoilers for the Everyone Lives AU comic come with a warning. But I just…I don’t wanna wait hahaha.
I also have a ton of AUs featuring the two of them, the biggest one being my Vampire x Vampire Hunter AU. This ended up being a much bigger story, mixing the cast of the first Fear and Hunger game and Termina—but the focus is Pavrin :3c
Finally, I am working on a pilot Ghost Demon Pink comic! It features when Olivia first discovers Pink. Originally, I had planned to skip that part and would start after Olivia had been dealing with Pink for a while, but that constantly got me nowhere and I kept starting over. I think truly starting at the beginning might help my brain figure out where to go next. I’m hoping to properly sell it, probably for just a US dollar. I really wanna try to monetize my art more, preferably with passive income. Between school and work and living in the hell that is America, it’s really hard to find time to make enough money to live AND still have time for yourself. I’m truly not capitalist-minded enough to constantly advertise for commissions, but maybe finally starting a backlog of comics and books can work out better. We’ll see!
Those are my current focuses! I’ll probably pick up some more smaller projects along the way (ADHD go brrrrrrrrrrr). I wanted to do more animating too, but with the mental work that goes into school, I have had a really tough time being able to sit and focus on animation. Maybe once I graduate!
